Why a quality hosting plan is important
Main / Westslope Design Blog

Sometimes we get the question, "Why is your base hosting package higher than a lot of other places online?" It's a valid question, and one I really enjoy answering for clients.

Let me give you few reasons why we offer higher price (and more value-packed) hosting packages than other budget hosting providers like GoDaddy do.

1) It's better for the client - When you get web hosting through Westslope Design, we take care of all aspects of the setup of your website for you.  That way, clients don't have to deal with the labrynth that is the budget hosting admin panel. Plus, we spare you the ridiculous amount of ads for upsells that these budget providers will offer you that you really don’t need (think undercoating on new cars).

2) We will support you - Westslope provides simple and effective hosting support as part of our monthly hosting plan. So, if you have a hosting issue we're happy to help you out with it or we'll just take care of it for you on the spot. You won't get reactive, friendly phone support from those budget providers.

3) You get a lot more than a place to store your website! - Beyond giving you a place to simply store your website, every single one of our hosting packages includes our propritetary content management system (CMS).

Every Westslope Design hosting package we offer includes the ability to:

  • Update Content Instantly - You can change, add and remove any of your site content, whenever you want. Use a simple (WYSIWYG) editor (think Microsoft Word) to make content changes in real-time. All you need is an internet connection and a web browser to make changes to your website.
  • Sell Online - Sell products and collect payment through your website, all with no additional cost
  • Email Newsletter Campaigns - Send out emails to your site's visitors, customers, clients, prospects, etc. This feature alone would cost you $30 (or so) per month if you went with Constant Contact or some similar 3rd party newsletter service.
  • Collect Leads With Forms - Every hosting plan includes a Customer Relationship Database that lets you create and grow your customer database every time your customers inquire or interact with your website.
  • Publish FAQs, News and Announcements - Update visitors on what is new with your organization (this will keep them coming back to your site!).
  • Take Bookings Online - Have people sign up (and pay) for classes, seminars, teams, etc. with the integrated booking functionality.
  • Receive Website Traffic Reports -  Monitor who is finding your website, how they are finding it, what they are looking for and when they are ready to take the critical step of contacting your business.
  • Blog - Quickly publish fresh content by using the integrated blog functionality
  • Build a Community Forum - Enable your site's visitors to start conversations and build a community by launching a community forum.
  • Create "Members Only" Content - Create spots on your website that only certain types of people can see (i.e. paying customers, clients, etc.).
  • Upload Beautiful Photo Galleries
  • Host Advertising - Promote whatever products and services you want to on your website, including your own!
  • Lots of other stuff too, but you get the picture...

4) You get what you pay for - Sure it's a cliche... But it's a cliche because it's true a lot of the time.  If you only spend $6 per month on hosting, you aren't going to expect much from your hosting package. And you probably won't get much out of it either.  In order to offer a dirt cheap prices, these budget hosting companies provide basic hosting that don't contain the features and capabilities that a more robust hosting package (like ours!) offers.

We here at Westslope Design are more interested in empowering our clients with hosting plans that will actively grow their businesses, not merely save them a few bucks per month on their hosting cost.

Conclusion - Your website is an investment, not an expense. Please remember that.

Once you see your website as an investment, it is easy to see that there is much more to web hosting than the monthly price associated with it.  Namely, you have to ask yourself, "what am I getting for what I pay for it? Do I have what I need to grow my business online?"

We aren't going to have the lowest price hosting packages, but no $6 per month hosting plan out there will give you the online business building tools and capabilities that you will get with a Westslope Design hosting package.
